WhatsApp introduced the Status feature some long time ago as a replica of Instagram’s Stories. It has seen a number of upgrades over time, and it’s scheduled to receive a new upgrade very soon.
The most recent Beta version WhatsApp indicates it is likely that Status could be available soon. Like always, the feature was discovered by none less than WABetaInfo,the tech blog that reveals the upcoming WhatsApp features.
What’s New?
The report states that the latest update lets you check the status of your contacts right in the chat list. The feature was initially discovered in the course of developing WhatsApp Desktop. WhatsApp Desktop beta, but now it appears it’s coming to phones too. Below is a screenshot of what it’s going to appear like.
Following the update, you’ll not have to access the Status tab in order to keep up on what your buddies and family members are up to. Soon, you will be able to see all updates in the chat area that is ideal for those who do not move between tabs. WABetaInfosays that this feature cannot be disabled via the settings.
WhatsApp is working on a variety of other features , including editing buttons for messages as well as an undo button to deleted messages, as well as many more. It’s not clear the date these functions will be rolling out to users however, they are being developed for the moment.
